Geraldine M. Smith

Geraldine M. "Jerry" Smith, 79, of Bethlehem passed away September 18, 2012 after a short illness. She was born in Shenandoah, PA to the late Daniel and Winifred McCole and a loving wife to the late James "J.J." Smith, Jr., who passed away in 2005.

Jerry worked at Elaine's Hair World at the front desk for many years. She enjoyed watching Phillies baseball, Eagles Football and many game shows on TV. She also enjoyed going out for breakfast on Tuesday mornings and dinner on Thursday evenings. Jerry was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by a son, James J. and his wife Johanna J. of Freemansburg, three grandsons, James P. Smith and his wife Barbara of Bethlehem Township, David M. Smith of Bethlehem and William K. Dosedlo and his wife Lorie of Bethlehem Township, a twin sister, Madeline "Madge" Denchak and brother-in-law Frank of Dacula, Georgia, sister-in-law, Mary McCole of Shenandoah, brother-in-law Ronald Smith of Frackville, brother-in-law, John Urban of Bethlehem, ten great grandchildren, Kyah, Kady, Morgan, Autum, Jordan, Brynn, TOri, Taylor, Brenna and Brady and two very special people in her life, her niece, Elaine Urban and a very close friend, Louise Stevens and many more nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, James, William, John, Daniel and Aloysius and three sisters, Winifred Urban, Jean Savitsky and Lorretta Wojick.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM and again on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 8-9 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 9:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that consideration be made in contributing to St. Luke's Hospice 801 Osturm St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 or to the charity of one's choice.
