Giovanni Cavalli

Giovanni Cavalli, 92, of Bethlehem, died on March 1, 2023, at Holy Family Manor. He was born May 7, 1930, in Ribi, Province of Frosinone, Italy, the son of the late Guido and Carolina (Persichilli) Cavalli. Giovanni was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 51 years, Lidia (Tamburo) Cavalli.

Giovanni proudly served in the Italian Army. In 1956, he immigrated to the United States. Giovanni retired from the Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a crane operator. He was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church and more recently Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Giovanni will be lovingly remembered as a family man. He will be dearly missed by his sons, John G. Cavalli, and Paul A. Cavalli; sisters, Lucia Cionni, and Rita “Linda” Calvani; as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Giovanni was predeceased by his brother, Domenico Cavalli; and sister, Anna Orechioni.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
