Gladys Roman, 91, of Bethlehem passed away on Thursday February 13, 2014 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Fountain Hill. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie (Kosakowski) Kovitch of Bethlehem, Pa. She was born and raised in Bethlehem. She had lived in Yokosuka, Japan for three years and in San Francisco for a year. She worked as a seamstress for 40 years at various shops and was a member of the International Garment Workers Union.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Deborah (Roman) Pianowski of Bethlehem, son, Michael Roman of Jacksonville, Florida, grandchildren, Zachary Pianowski, Janice, Michael, and John Roman and 5 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Anthony Kovitch, and sister, Josephine Mosko.
A prayer service will be held 9:30am Friday February 28, 2014 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. followed by a Memorial Mass 10am at St. Annes Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 8:30-9:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
