Goldie C. Motil, 87, of Bethlehem died on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at St.Lukes Hospital.

She was born March 16, 1921in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Imre and Theresa Luybli Kovacs Takacs.

Goldie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph E. Motil of Bethlehem.

Earlier, Goldie worked for several years as a sewing machine operator for the dress factory on the corner of Adams and 3rd Street and the pocketbook factory on E. 4th St.

After 1945, she worked as a seamstress for family and friends specializing in dresses and hand smocked baby dresses.

Later, Goldie dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker and continued her passion for sewing.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family, husband, Joseph; daughter, Carol Sellman wife of Robert of Haddon Heights, NJ and her grandchildren, Michelle Cox wife of Lee-Volker and Jennifer Sellman.

She was preceded in death by her brother James Kovacs and her sisters Grace and Mary Kovacs.

Goldie was a member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 9:30 am to 11am with a service to celebrate Goldie's life to immediately follow at 11am at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem

Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
