Grace S. Vardabash, 95, of Bethlehem, died on March 31, 2025. She was born in Ithaca, NY on May 19, 1929. Grace was the devoted wife of the late James A. Vardabash.
She was a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and later earned her master's degree from Syracuse University. Grace dedicated herself to the service of others, especially children. She lived this daily in her role as a social worker in the Children's Division of the Onondaga County Department of Social Services for 30 years and retired as the Assistant Director.
Grace was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Mary Kay Baker (Joe Pavlo), and Julie McLennan (Todd McLennan), grandchildren, Jamie McLennan (Jude Renzi), and Lauren Connolly, as well as her great grandchildren, Liam, and Emma Grace, all of whom provided her great joy. Grace is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Grace was a passionate sports fan who especially enjoyed cheering for Syracuse University football and basketball, the Philadelphia Eagles, and her beloved Miami Heat. She also enjoyed Scrabble, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018, with Mass to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in Syracuse, NY at a later date.
