Guadalupe C. Machain

Guadalupe C. Machain, 84, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, February 28, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital.

He was born October 3, 1926 in Pottstown, PA; the son of the late J. David and Carmen Araujo Machain.

Guadalupe is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Anna E. Machain.

Guadalupe was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School.

He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. in 1983 where he served as a Supervisor in the Beam Yards. Earlier, Guadalupe worked for the U.S. Postal Service.

Guadalupe was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; children, David and his wife Jiraporn of Bethlehem; Michael and his wife Carol of Hanover Twp.; Kathleen Hicks and her husband Jack of Allentown and James and his wife Helena of Bethlehem; his sisters, Sr. Mary Alexander, S.S.J. of Flourtown, PA; Elizabeth Turbedsky of Allentown and Mercedes Moughan of Hellertown, PA and his brothers, Rev. Fr. David B. Machain of Philadelphia and Jose Machain of Indiana. Guadalupe will also be dearly missed by his 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by his brothers Rev. Fr. Alexander D. and Joseph Machain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020.

A viewing will be held from 7-9 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018
