H. Leroy Strawn

July 2, 1921 — December 14, 2008

H. LeRoy Strawn, 87, of Bangor, PA formerly of Bethlehem, died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem.

Born July 2, 1921 he was the son of the late Carrie Buss and William Strawn. LeRoy was married to his late wife Edna Mast Strawn. He is survived by a long time companion Margaret Brown.

LeRoy worked as a steelworker for the former Bethlehem Steel for 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bangor. LeRoy enjoyed life and the people around him. He could always make you smile and will be missed by all those who knew him. His family would especially like to thank the staff at Phoebe Nursing Home in Allentown for all their care and kindness.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Nancy Wiltrout and husband Frank of Macungie, son, Gary L. Strawn and wife Sally of Hellertown, grandsons; Jeffrey Wiltrout and wife Jennifer of Reinholds, PA, Matthew Wiltrout and wife Melanie of Conshohocken, PA, Christopher Strawn and wife Amanda of Nazareth, Brian Strawn and wife Lauren of Huntersville, N.C., and one granddaughter, Kate Applegate and husband Aaron of Portsmouth, VA. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM. There will be calling period Thursday morning in the funeral home from 10-11 AM followed by a service at 11 AM.

Memorials can be made in LeRoy's name to the Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke's 1510 Valley Center Parkway-St. 200 Bethlehem, PA 18017 or to the Charity of One's Choice.
