Hector M. Arechiga, 79, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. He was born May 6, 1934 in Bethlehem, son of the late Baldomero and Enedina (Lomeli) Arechiga. Hector is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann (Brugger) Arechiga.
He proudly served in the US Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Hector began his career with the City of Bethlehem. He later was hired by the Bethlehem Steel Corp. where he worked for over 30 years. Hector worked in the Real Estate and Law Departments. After retirement, Hector worked as a bartender at the Fearless Fire Co.
Hector was a parishioner of St. Annes Catholic Church, where he was an usher and he and his wife were members of Marriage Encounter.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary Ann; son, Richard Arechiga (Michelle) of Emmaus; sister, Olga Nemetz of Easton as well as nieces and nephews. Hector was preceded in death by his sister, Blanche Marrero and brothers, Sergio and Baldomero Arechiga.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Connell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 12-1 PM at St. Annes Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017 with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow. Inurnment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Annes Catholic Church and/or St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
