Helen A. Rohal

Helen A. Rohal, 88, of Bethlehem passed away on Thursday February 7, 2013 at the Old Orchard Health Center. She was born on February 16, 1924 in Berlinsville, Pa. daughter of the late Constantine and Catherine (Volvo) Gerkovich. She was the wife of Francis A. Rohal. They were married for 68 years this past November.

Helen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.

During WWII she was a shell inspector at the Bethlehem Steel. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She also loved to work in the garden

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Francis, sons, Joseph Rohal and wife Lana of Baton Rouge, LA; Michael J. Rohal and wife Jan of Glen Ridge, NJ; daughters, Andrea Zimmerer and husband James Sentiwany of Bethlehem; and Marlena Rohal of Bethlehem; daughter in law, Patricia A. Rohal of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers, Stephen Gerkovich and wife Julie of Walnutport; and Paul Gerkovich and wife Alma of Walnutport; sister, Evelyn Shingledecker of Bethlehem; and sister in law Irene Gerkovich of Slatington; grandchildren, Trisha, Kimberly, Kristen, Mark, Charlotte, and Kyle, and great grandchildren, Eddie, Christian, Caitlyn, Robert, Kiera and Brayden.

She was predeceased by a son, Francis Rohal Jr., brothers, Rudolph, William, Constantine, Joseph and John, and sisters, Katherine and Violet.

A prayer service will be held at 10:15am on Saturday February 16, 2013 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 1817 First St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18015. Calling hours will be held from 9:15am-10:15am at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
