Helen A. Salak

Helen A. Salak, 93, of Bethlehem, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 1, 2008. She was born January 29, 1915 in New Philadelphia, PA; the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Kolasser Zuramske. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Salak who died in 1980.

Helen, along with her husband Joe was once the co-owner of Joe's Tavern on Broad St. in Bethlehem. She was the President of the Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the West End Fire Co. in St. Clair, which her late husband Joe was instrumental in building.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her son, Russell, daughter, Deborah wife of A. Michael Costello, her grandchildren, Jacqueline M. Salak, Shelly A. wife of Thomas Newell, Kristin A. wife of Craig Fritz and Michael J. Costello. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Edward Zuramske and daughter-in-law, Pauline Salak.
