Helen E. Martin

Helen E. Martin, 92 of Bethlehem and a resident of Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, died Wednesday evening, January 23, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital Hospice House in Lower Saucon Township.

Helen and her husband, Joseph E. Martin, were married for 65 years prior to his death in 2006.

Born in Bethlehem, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Hermina Shunk.

Helen, a wonderful and caring person was devoted to her family.

She loved gardening and enjoyed taking walks on the west side of Bethlehem.

She was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

Helen was a 1940 graduate of Bethlehem High School.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Jeannie M. Gonsalves, and her husband, Manny, of Lower Saucon Twsp.; her son, Joseph E. Martin, Jr. and his wife, Tina, of Bethlehem; her sister, Genevieve Buragino, of Bethlehem; and her four grandchildren, David, Diane, Joseph and Nicole and one great-grandson, Courtney.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Joseph and her sister, Marie Bieneman.

Funeral services will be at 11:a.m. on Monday, January 28th, in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem.

Visitation will be on Monday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
