Helen E. Vargo

Helen E. Vargo, 82, of Bethlehem passed away on Thursday February 7, 2013 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Fountain Hill, Pa. She was born on May 21,1930 in Bethlehem, daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Kondor) Korpics. She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Vargo.

Helen worked as a secretary at Bethlehem Steel for 10 years and then for the Bethlehem School District in the cafeteria for 25 years. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Helen loved to bake, especially kiffles, and crochet Afghans.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Joseph C. Vargo and wife, Ann of Schnecksville; Thomas J. Vargo and wife, Michele, of Kansas City, MO; and Donald J. Vargo and wife Debra of Vineland, NJ; sisters, Theresa Tolnai of Bethlehem Twp; Julia Zaviecz wife of Charles of Freemansburg; and Rose Shiner of Bear, DE; and six grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Francis, and Joseph, and sisters, Anna Korpics, and Mary Csaszar.

Services will be held 9:30am on Monday February 11, 2013 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10am at St. Anne's Catholic Church 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, Pa. Calling hours will be from 8:30am- 9:30am at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
