Helen E. Walakovits

Helen E. Walakovits, 92, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.

She was born in New Brighton, PA; the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Farkas.

Helen was also preceded in death by her husband in 2001, Charles A. Walakovits.

She worked in the garment industry and was the Assistant Steward for the former Hungarian Hall prior to dedicating her life to her family.

Helen was a member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, where she was a member of the noodle club and later became a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem. She was also a member of the Southside Boys Club Mothers Club.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Fran "Toot" Siderias and her son, Charles "Chip" Walakovits and his wife Beverly all of Bethlehem as well as her three grandchildren, Michael, Steven and Susan; four great grandchildren Vanessa, Michelle, Matthew and Marissa and one great-great granddaughter Hanna.

Helen enjoyed to sew, was a dog lover and an avid Phillies Phan.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem PA 18018 from 8-9 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem PA 18020 at 9:30 AM.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
