Helen E. Zelasko

Helen E. Zelasko of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully from this life on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She was born on December 14, 1923 in Bethlehem, daughter of the late Agnes and Joseph Slaninka. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Edmund “Butch” Zelasko.

Helen worked at the Bethlehem Steel during WWII, Tri Togs and in the cafeteria at Notre Dame High School. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing in her younger years and most recently her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She belonged to the former Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and for the past 56 years Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Leonard Zelasko and wife Karen, Darlene McKay Juless and husband Bill and Charlene Zelasko Benner and husband Allen, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Calvo and brothers, Joseph, Steve, John and Charles Slaninka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 First St., Bethlehem, PA 18020 at 10 AM. A viewing will be held in the church from 9-10 AM.
