Helen G. Herczeg

Helen G. Herczeg, 93, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. She was born in Allentown, the daughter of the late Martin and Victoria (Tarnowski) Lysek. She was the loving wife of Frank Herczeg who died in 2002.

Helen worked for the Keystone Dress Factory for over 40 years as a sewing machine operator. She volunteered at Miller Blood Bank for many years and was a life-long bowler. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Carol, wife of Ken Smith of East Allen Twp.; brother, Charles Lysek; sister, Rosemarie Bedics, her grandchildren, Sue Ann Hankee, Stephen K. Smith and Victoria L. Smith; and her five great-grandchildren, Alex, Mackenna, Ben, Brittany and Eugene. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, John, Stanley, Edward and Frank; and her sisters, Sophie, Mary and Josephine.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
