Helen K. Balshi

Helen K. Balshi, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully, with her children at her side on November 4, 2011. Born in Bethlehem on May 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Shukal Bluder. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Balshi, they were married 69 years.

Helen was a beautiful, generous and caring person who always took the time to help others. She was a very talented woman who loved to cook, bake, sew and dance. She loved crossword puzzles, watching TV news shows, current events and polka music. She was a member of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joseph D. and wife Cynthia, Anita Bolden, Marisa Reese Pierce and husband Spence; grandchildren, Emily Pierce, Ashley and Noah Balshi; and niece, Cynthia Gross, her husband Bill and family, Alyson, Julie, Haley and Abbie. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Viewing hours will be held, in the funeral home, on Tuesday November 8th from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Services will begin on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and will be followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, 18015. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
