Helen L. Poplasky

Helen L. Poplasky, 92, of Bethlehem Twp., died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her home. She was born October 27, 1920 in Harvey's Lake, PA; daughter of the late James L. and Susan A. (Oney) Wickham. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edward B. "Popeye" Poplasky.

She was a machine operator at the former Laros for 20 years. Helen then worked at Lehigh University as a waitress for 15 years prior to retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hellertown VFW. Helen was known for her kind and caring spirit; her wonderful cooking and the great love that she had for her family.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Susan Fogel wife of Richard R. of Bethlehem Twp.; Julie A. Mostek wife of the late Gary of Center Valley; son, Lester O. Clore and his wife Rosalyn of Bethlehem Twp.; sisters, Norma Small of Swoyersville, PA and Caroline Sanborn of Bethlehem and her brother Asa Wickham of Martinsburg WV. Helen will also be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Olen S. Wickham.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10:30-11:30 am at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a ceremony to celebrate Helen's life to immediately follow. Entombment will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, 801 Ostrum St. c/o Development Office, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
