Helen Hayas Daday

Helen Hayas Daday, 90, of Bethlehem passed away on December 22, 2006 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Daday, who died November 10, 2001 and the daughter of the late Joseph & Magdeline Sedlacek Hayas.

Helen was born June 24, 1916, in Bethlehem. She was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. She worked as a registered nurse at St Luke?s and other hospitals in the Lehigh Valley and Norristown, and at Holy Family Manor. She also worked for years as a private duty nurse.

She was a long standing member of Sts Simon and Jude Parish. She was an active member of the Sodality and the Seniors organization. There wasn?t a fair, bazaar, bake sale, or other worthy event that she missed volunteering for.

The family estimates that she baked over 50, 000 kiffles a Slovak pastry.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr Joseph and Ann Michele Daday of Bethlehem, and James and Beth Daday of Nashua, NH; her sister, Rose Falatek of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren Liz, Kristy, Ashley, CJ, Jonathon, Brandon, and Michael, and two great grandchildren Dominic and Isaiah.
