Helen M. Ilkew

Helen M. (Velas) Ilkew passed away Monday, September 1, 2014. She was born in Bethlehem, a daughter of Joseph and Anna (Mack) Velas. Helen retired from Laros & Adler Garment Company where she worked as a seamstress for 41 years. Helen was an associate with the Senior Citizens Group of St. Theresas Guild and the church choirs. Helen is survived by her daughter, Nancy Clark of Perkasie, sisters, Anna Krajci of Fountain Hill and Frances Sefranek of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Kozo, Elizabeth Amichetti, Josephine Zorn and a brother, Joseph Velas.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church 1408 Easton Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions can be made in Helens name to St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church or to the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, 395 Bridal Path Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18017.
