Helen Sklodowski

Helen Poniktera Sklodowski, 84, of Hellertown, PA died on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem. She was born in Bethlehem and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Drozd Poniktera. Helen was the widow of Marion F. "Ski" Sklodowski who died in 2002.

Helen was a sewing machine operator for the former Kar-ies Lingerie in Bethlehem retiring in 1975 after 20 years service. She was a member of St. Theresa of the Child of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown, PA and a former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Barbara Mahl and her husband Larry of Saylorsburg, PA, son Michael Sklodowski and his wife Laurie of Allentown, PA, a sister Bertha Donoso of Bethlehem and a grandson Daniel Mahl of Saylorsburg, PA.

Helen is predeceased by her parents, seven brothers, Frank, Stanley, Alexander, Joseph, John, Walter and Edward Poniktera and a sister Julia Duro.

Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad St., Bethlehem on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM St. Theresa of the Child of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055.
