Henry J.G. Enright

Henry “Hank” Joseph Gilligan Enright, age 86, of Mexico City, Mexico passed away peacefully on October 27, 2016 at his sons home in Louisville, KY. Born April 6, 1930 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John D. Enright and Mary G. Enright.

He attended Liberty High School and Lehigh University and was active in Band, Town Council, Scabbard and Blade, among others.

He earned a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Lehigh University, with a Major in Accounting in 1951. A Distinguished Military Graduate, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and served in The Air Force Auditor General Squadron as an auditing officer during the Korean Conflict in several posts, later rising to the rank of Captain in the reserves.

He initially lived and worked in New York and New Jersey for Arthur Anderson and received his CPA in New York. While working for Vision and the Simmons Company, he met his future wife Ileana in California and went on to marry her in Mexico City in 1959.

An avid business and leisure traveler, with a love for languages and cultures, after living and working in Mexico and the United States, he served as General Manager of the Simmons Company in Paris, France, Caracas, Venezuela and Mexico City. Before retiring he served as the Finance Director for Tootsie Roll Industries in Mexico City, and kept active in his travels and as a business consultant to several international companies in Mexico. He also appeared in several motion pictures filmed in Mexico, opposite Paul Newman in Fat Man and Little Boy as well as in Total Recall with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He is survived by his wife Ileana R. Enright of Mexico City; sister Anne R. Enright of Bethlehem; sons, Gerald ”Jerry” Enright (Isabel) of Boulder, CO and Henry “Hank” M. Enright (Yadira) of Louisville, KY and his grandchildren Stephanie, Brian, Nadia and Aidan. He is predeceased by son William D. Enright, brother John J.G. Enright of Bethlehem and sister Teresa Enright Eliezer of Leesburg, Virginia.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 10-11:30 a.m. at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Annes Church, The Lehigh Fund, 27 Memorial Drive West, Bethlehem, PA 18015 or St. Lukes Hospice C/O Development, 801 Ostrum St. Bethlehem, PA 18015
