Herminia Acevedo

Herminia Valera Acevedo, 83 , of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at her Residence in Bethlehem, PA. She was born in Aguado, Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Pedro Valera and Justina Soto.

Hermina was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother.

Herminia will be lovingly remembered by her four sons Antonio Cortes and his wife Linda of Selden, NY, Abad Cortes and his wife Deborah of East Meadow, NY, Ramon Cortes and his wife Glenda of Miami FL, and Pablo Irrizarry and his wife Nelly of Bethlehem, PA, five daughters Carmen Cortes of Bethlehem, Maria Cortes and her husband Jesus Lopez of Bethlehem, Esperanza Cortes and her husband Alexis of Puerto Rico, Blanaca Cortes of Bethlehem, and Elsie Cortes and her husband Jose of Bethlehem and her former husband Guillermo Cortes of Puerto Rico and 20 grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday January 23, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday January 24, 2011 from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM
