Herminio Bonilla

Herminio Bonilla, 78, of Bethlehem, died on December 21, 2020. He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico; son of the late Marcelina Rivera, and Jose Bonilla. Herminio is survived by his loving wife, Delia (Hernandez) Bonilla.

Herminio will be remembered for his courageous fight during the Covid-19 Pandemic, in which he kept strong in faith, knowing that his life was in the hands of the Great Physician. The love for his family, and the passion for working at the church, from driving the church bus, to working in maintenance, fundraisers, and much more. He loved his yearly trips to Florida, with the mens group, and always keeping up to speed with the younger men in the group. His smiles, and singing during every phone call while in the hospital will never be forgotten.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, his children, Herminio Bonilla, Jr, Maria Hance, Luz Ester Gomez, Luz Elenia Rojas, Carmen Natal, Aileen Altagracia, Eric Cruz, Nicky Cruz, Lilia Ramos as well as his siblings, Luz Bonilla, Juan Bonilla, Adela Bonilla, and Pascual Bonilla; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the congregation of Smyrna Church of the Lord. Herminio was preceded in death by seven siblings, including brother, Reverend Thomas Bonilla, founder of Iglesia Esmirna del Seor, El Tabernaculo, where Herminio is a member.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Iglesia Smirna del Seor, El Tabernaculo, 1537 E. 6th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Burial will be held at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
