Hugh J. McIntyre, 79, of Bethlehem, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at St.Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. Born in Mauch Chunk, he was the son of the late Hugh and Agatha Dugan McIntyre.
His wife of nearly 55 years, Lucy Annette Cadden McIntyre, died June 3, 2006.
He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Bethlehem, for 44 years.
He was a Navy veteran of WWII and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Army he worked for the C.I.A, then in the sales department of the Bethlehem Steel Company for 30 years, retiring in 1983. In retirement he worked at several security positions.
Mr. McIntyre graduated from Mauch Chunk Catholic High School and the Bethlehem Business College.
Hugh had a great sense of humor and loved family gatherings. He was passionate about sports and was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Notre Dame football, but his greatest pleasure came from watching his grandchildren?s activities, which included baseball, football, basketball, softball, soccer, rugby and even ballet.

Grandchildren-Daniel Patrick & Michael Hugh McIntyre and Megan Lucy, Mark & Gregory Angelo
He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents he was predeceased by an infant son Michael in 1956 and a brother Dennis.
SERVICES:
Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem on Friday, May 4, 2007
at 10:15 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Notre Dame Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 8:30am ? 10:15am.
Private burial services will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, in Jim Thorpe, PA
