Ilyene Pratka

Ilyene Pratka, 83, of Hellertown, PA died July 16 in St.Luke?s Hospital. She was the widow of Michael Pratka who died January 1, 2006.

Born December 15, 1923 on a farm near Fulda, Minnesota, Ilyene was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Francisca Ramert Lammers.

She was a member of Assumption BVM Church, Colesville. Ilyene was a graduate of Mankato State College, Minnesota. She was a Registered Nurse and served in the Cadet Nurse Corps in World War II. She graduated from St. Mary?s School of Nursing, Rochester, Minnesota, and attended the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health. After further studies in Outpatient Management in New York City, she remained there to work in this field in clinics and corporate employee health. Ilyene retired with her husband to rural Upper Saucon Township in 1982.

Survivors: Brother, Edward J. Lammers of Butterfield, Minnesota.
