Irene Caroline Henn

Irene Caroline Kuzma Henn, Bethlehem, passed away at home at age 90 on March 18, 2012.

Irene was born in Bethlehem on May 30, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph and Vilma Zbul Kuzma. Irene grew up in South Bethlehem and lived there for 84 years before moving to Hanover Township, Northampton County in 2006, to live with her daughter. She was graduated from Liberty High School in 1939. For many years, Irene, known to many by her nickname of "Iggie," worked at Sure Fit in Bethlehem.

On December 31, 1941, she was married to Dean Richard Henn, also of Bethlehem, in Winchester, Virginia. Her husband preceded her in death on September 8, 1987.

Irene enjoyed travel, especially to Hawaii, going to the theatre, weekends in New York City, shopping, and simply spending time with her daughter, Carol. She was a member of St. John's Windish Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, and her faith in God was very much the center of her life.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Kuzma Hassay Susa of Bethlehem; by her daughter, Carol; and by several nieces and nephews and their families. She is also survived by many friends who, like her family, will miss her laughter and quick wit and her always positive outlook on life. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and by her sister, Grace, and her brother, Charles, both of whom died in infancy.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 6-9PM at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem PA 18018.

Another visitation will be held on Thursday from 10-10:30 am at St. John's Windish Evangelical Lutheran Church, 634 East Fourth Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015 with a celebration of life service to follow at 11 AM in the church.

A private service of interment will follow at Fountain Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem.
