Irene E. Albertson

Irene E. Albertson, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Born on June 18, 1933, in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Spevak) Kelhart.

Irene was a licensed hairdresser. She owned and operated Dragos Beauty Salon on West Broad Street, Bethlehem, for thirty years before retiring to Fort Meyers, Florida. After returning from Florida, Irene was a long-time resident of Sacred Heart Senior Living in Center Valley, PA where she enjoyed many wonderful years.

Outside of work she was an active member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Irene found joy in crafting, art, cooking and sewingshe was the head of the sewing guild during her time in Florida. She was also a musician of the organ and guitar.

She will be remembered as a kind, loving, and very spiritual individual.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband: Dominic C. Drago, who died in 1975; her second husband: Raymond E. Albertson, who died in 2009; and three sisters: Margaret Sarik, Helen Hudak, and Mary Feher.

Irene will be lovingly remembered by one son: John A. Drago; two daughters: Renee A. Hans (James A.) and Lisa M. Dundon (Brian); two stepsons: Raymond Albertson, Jr. (Rose) and Chris Albertson (Cait Murphy); one step-daughter: Carol Herman (Deacon Stewart Herman); eleven grandchildren: Isaac, Ashley, Lauren, Dominic, Craig, William, Ryan, James, Jesse, Deseree and Nathan; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 10:00am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial, in church, at 11:00am.

Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Linden Street, Bethlehem.

Arrangements are under the care of the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18015
