Irene Grace Bukvics

Irene Grace Bukvics, 94, of Bethlehem died on Friday, January 18, 2013. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pecsek. Irene was the wife of the late Louis F. Bukvics.

Irene was born in the United States and as a child traveled to Europe. She was educated in Yugoslavia and returned to New York City as a governess. Irene later settled in the Bethlehem area and worked as a seamstress for the former Chickadee Dress Company. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bethlehem where she was a member of the Women's League.

Irene will be dearly missed by her son Robert and his wife Carol Bukvics of Bethlehem; her grandchildren, Roberta Moir, Jennifer Bukvics Ouellette and Molly Bukvics and two great grandchildren, Abby and Ella Moyer. Irene was preceded in death by her sister, Julia.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 8:30-9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 E. 5th Street Bethlehem, PA 18015. Interment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Catholic High School Athletic Dept., 2133 Madison Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017.
