Irene I. Strella

Irene I. Strella, 91, of Bethlehem passed away Thursday January 10, 2013 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown. She was born on November 15, 1921 in Whitehall, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Strisovsky) Makovsky. She was the wife of the late Andrew Strella who died in 1969.

Irene was a sales associate for Van Scoy Diamond Mine and also worked at Western Electric. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Andrea Elwood wife of Daniel of Coopersburg, and grandson Luke Elwood.

She was predeceased by brothers, Emil, Joseph, Gerald and Victor, and sisters, Pauline Mitchell, and Ann Makovsky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, Pa. A viewing will be held from 6-8pm Monday evening at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
