Irene M. Kurtz, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, December 2, 2016. She was born in Hellertown on May 1, 1930; daughter of the late Michael and Louise (Prielozny) Karch. She was the devoted wife of the late William H. Kurtz, Sr. who died in 2014; they were married 63 years.

Irenes greatest passion was her family. She worked for Western Electric and Wood Catering. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she was very active with fund raising and served as a den mother. She also loved to crochet and knit.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, William H. Kurtz, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Bethlehem and Edward Kurtz and his wife, Joanne of Bethlehem; daughters, Denise Wallbillich and her husband, Tom of Canton, GA and Deborah Baransky and her husband, Michael of Punta Gorda, FL; sister, Louise Matthews; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and great granddaughter due in February. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan and sister, Mildred Ridgick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 9, at 11 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:30-11 AM. Burial will be held at Bethlehem Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104.
