Irma M. Soares

Irma M. Soares, 78, of Bethlehem, PA died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the St. Lukes VNA Hospice House in Bethlehem. Born June 14, 1935 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Bognar) Gor. She was predeceased by her husband, Ricardo A. Soares. Irma was an owner and operator of Rickys Lunch on Emery St. in Bethlehem, from 1962 to 1992. She was a graduate of Liberty High School. She was a member of Central Assembly of God in Bethlehem, where she was very active as a cook for the daycare and also sang in the choir. Irma had vocal training and sang with the Arthur Murray Studio Performers on the radio.

Irma will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Antoinette “Toni” Fox and husband, John, of Bethlehem; Mary Ann Gorges and husband, Eric, of Northampton; son, Ricardo A. Soares and companion, Christine, of Bethlehem; sister, Elaine Bokanyi and husband Eugene, of Allentown; four grandchildren, John, Michelle, Reilly and Matteus, a great-grandson, Sawyer; and her long-time canine companion, Ace. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ilona Gor.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Central Assembly of God, 1300 Eaton Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
