Isadore Joseph Oblick

January 2, 1931 — January 6, 2012

Isadore "Izzy" Oblick, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at his residence.

He was born January 2, 1931 in Larksville, PA; son of the late John and Eva Oblick.

Isadore proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Aldona Diamond Oblick

Isadore worked as a Crane Operator and Forklift Operator for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., Atlantic States, MCP and Encore.

Isadore was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Aldona and his children, Thomas Oblick and his wife Mary of El Paso, TX; Cheryl Grady and her husband Barry of Bethlehem; John Oblick and his companion Bonnie Snyder of Bowmanstown, PA; Michael Oblick and his wife Cheryl of Nazareth, PA; Ann Marie Bowen and her husband John of Colonial Heights, VA and Susan Deitzler and her husband John of Lebanon, PA. He will also be dearly missed by his 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Isadore was predeceased by his sisters, Nellie, Isabel and Eva and his brothers, Edward and John.

He was a member of the Monacacy Field and Stream and the Knights of Columbus.

Izzy will be remembered for his practical jokes and card tricks, his enjoyment of polka music and the fun he would have hunting, fishing, bowling and cheering on the Eagles. He also had a talent for playing the piano and accordion.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 6-8PM at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 8-9:15 AM in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Wednesday at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
