J. Arline Schiffer Miller

J. Arline Schiffer Miller, 92, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Manor Care Health Services.

She was born in Fleetwood, the daughter of the late Seneca and Emma Miller Adam.

Arline was preceded in death by her first husband Herman Schiffer in 1960 and her second husband Edward Miller in 1995.

She worked as a hostess and waitress for several restaurants in the area. She was lovingly known as "Mom" at the High Spot Luncheonette in Downtown Bethlehem.

Arline will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughter Sally wife of Bruce Johnson of Nazareth; and sons, Richard of Las Vegas; Herman husband of Judi of Slatington and Stephen husband of Lil of Plano, TX. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren as well as her brother Ralph "Pete" Adam of Kutztown.

She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. Arline also helped in the kitchen of the Pioneer Fire Co. in Allentown.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 9:30-10AM immediately followed by a ceremony to celebrate Arline's life in the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
