Jacob H. Shannon

Jacob H. Shannon, 77, of Bethlehem Twp., died on Monday, September 26, 2011 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born in Fountain Hill; son of the late Harry and Florence Rue Shannon. Jacob is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Lottie Fritchman Shannon. He retired from Asbury Graphite Mills after 30 years of service. Earlier he worked as a zinc miner. Jacob was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Bethlehem.

Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; children, Kathy A. Burton and her husband Gerald, Diane Macadam and her husband Jim, Mary Haber and her husband John and Ed Bartholomew and his wife Donna as well as seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many other family members for whom Jacob was a father figure. Jacob was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Allen Bartholomew.

Services: A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem PA 18018. A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at First Church of the Nazarene 1500 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18017. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
