James A. Siegfried

James A. Siegfried, 83, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Moravian Village of Bethlehem. He was born February 3, 1924 in Bethlehem, the son of the late Warren and Julia Muhr Siegfried. He was the loving husband of the late Mary T. Ortwein Siegfried who died in 2003.

James worked at Bethlehem Steel for 4 1/2 years as a machine operator. He then worked for Bethlehem Fabricators as a crane operator for 35 years. He also owned and operated the Flat Iron, which was called Jim & Mary's in Bethlehem.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.

James will be lovingly remembered by his stepson, John Shuey & his wife Susan of Lehighton; step-daughter, Mary Catherine Brown of New York; sister, Joyce E. Mingora of Bethlehem; nine grandchildren, Brenda Rolland, Laurie Anthony, Sandy Urash, Bridgette and Ernest Kerosetz, John, Josh and Sarah Shuey and James H. Brown. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Keshel, daughter, Donna Kerosetz

sisters, Elaine Schlegel, Ruth Marstellar, Shirley Lawrence and his twin brother, Warren Siegfried.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Monday, July 9, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church 417 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 8, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park, in Bethlehem.
