James A. Vaccaro, 95, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Manor Care Health Services.He was born December 19, 1911 in Pittsfield, MA; the son of the late James and Rose Russo Vaccaro.James is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elizabeth M. Weinhardt Vaccaro of Bethlehem.He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School, Pittsfield, MA and earned an athletic scholarship as a Pitcher for the Muhlenberg College Baseball Team.James continued his baseball in Pittsfield, MA in a Semi-Pro League.James retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co. as a Material Supervisor and Industrial Analyst after 43 years of service. He also was an Insurance Agent.James will be lovingly remembered by his Daughter, Frances wife of Bruce Anderson of Mountainside, NJ; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.He was preceded in death by his son, James; daughter, Barbara Ann Ueberoth; Sister Mary Oricko; and three Brothers, Joseph, John and Francis.James was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Bethlehem.He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father. James was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed golfing in his free time.A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Wednesday October 17, 2007 from 10-11AA with a service to follow in the funeral home at 11AM.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of James.
