James E. Shunk

James E. Shunk, 85, of Paupack, PA passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Jim was born in Bethlehem on February 10, 1939 to the late William, Sr. and Helen (Doncsecz) Shunk.

He retired from the Bethlehem Steel in 1984 and enjoyed an active lifestyle at his cabin in the woods of Lake Wallenpaupack. As a lifetime member of the Monocacy Field and Stream Association, he was an avid outdoorsman. Jim was a regular at the local rod & gun clubs enjoying friendships, clam bakes, meat raffles, boating, tournaments for shooting, archery, fishing, quoits, darts, bowling and was a master fly fisherman.

He will be remembered by his daughter Amy (Rick) Millhouse of Nazareth, son Gregory Shunk of Burley ID, sister Alice (Dave) Soplop of Nazareth, granddaughter Ashley, grandson Charles, great-granddaughter Marlee and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother William R. Shunk Jr.

Family and friends are invited for a visitation from 1pm – 3pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
