James S. Mills

James S. Mills, 88, of Bethlehem died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Moravian Village, Bethlehem. Born November, 23, 1925, in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Harry and Cora (James) Mills. He was the husband of the late Marie (OConnell) Mills who died in 2008. They were married 61 years.

Mr. Mills was employed by Bethlehem Steel as a draftsman in No. 2 Machine Shop retiring in 1985 after 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII where he served as a hospital corpsman. He was a parishioner at St. Annes Catholic Church, a member of the Silver Creek Country Club and a talented woodcarver and leaded glass artist.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, James P. and wife Mary; daughter, Judith Kozubal and husband Robert; grandchildren, Marie Meek and husband Travis, Robin Mills, Dana and Robert Kozubal; great-grandchildren, Cora and Dylan Meek. He was predeceased by one sister and two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem. Calling period will be held in the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.

Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250, in memory of Mills, James S., HM, USN or to Holy Family Manor, 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
