Janet Anne Zambo, 82, of Bethlehem, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Holy Family Manor.
Born on October 9, 1942, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kokuba and Helen (Jablonski) Kokuba. Janet was married for 61 years to Alexander Zambo, Jr.
Janet graduated from Notre Dame High School and from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Reading, PA. she worked at St. Luke's for 38 years and was responsible for implementing the first oncology unit at St. Luke's. She also volunteered at Holy Family Manor for many years. In her spare time, Janet enjoyed making kiffles for everyone, she was known as the kiffle lady.
She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem where she was past president of Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society and past president of Sacred Heart Prime Time Senior Club. In addition to making kiffles, she enjoyed knitting, making jigsaw puzzles, framing them, and gifting them to different organizations, playing bingo, and taking trips to Myrtle Beach with her family. Janet also loved the Philadelphia Phillies, winning or losing.
Janet will be dearly missed by her husband, Alexander; children, Joseph Zambo and his wife, Tracy, Michele Zambo, Christine Hubany, and David Zambo and his wife, Tina; grandchildren, Allison, Megan, Nicholas and his wife, Caitlyn, Dylan and his wife, Megan, Jacob, Andrew, and David; five great-grandchildren, Julian, Robby, Willow, Amiyah, and Elijah; and sister-in-law, Nancy Cauto and her husband, Manny.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 1st St., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Burial will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Special Learning Center 830 S. Woodward St., Allentown, PA 18103 or the Sacred Heart Prime Time Club.
