Jean Ann Rinnen

Jean Ann (Howell) Rinnen, 91, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, May 20, 2017. She was the daughter of Thelora (Cyphers) Howell Ziegler and Michael J. Howell. She was married for 69 years to Edward August Rinnen who passed away August 3, 2016.

She attended Moravian Preparatory School and continued her connection with the Moravian school system throughout her life. In the early 1950s, she and Edward built their own house where they raised four daughters. She was involved with Girl Scouts, teaching Sunday school and volunteering at St. Lukes Hospital. Around the age of 40 she attended the Bethlehem Area School Districts Practical Nursing Class and received her LPN license. Later in life she volunteered for the Moravian Gemeinhaus, Sun Inn and Kemmerer Museum. For 30 years she was an active member with the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution) Society. 12 of those years were as Regent. Some of her many joys were family, traveling, gardening, and taking care of animals and birds.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Thelora, wife of Lawrence Stenger, Susan, wife of Anthony Cimino, Rebecca, wife of David Bieber, Martha, wife of David Gracia; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. Richard C. and Michael J. Howell.

Internment at Shawnee Presbyterian Church Cemetery will be held at a later date.
