Jean F. Foust, 92, of Bethlehem Township, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on November 19, 2024, at Country Meadows Retirement Community. Born on June 20, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Clyde and Wilma (Dierker) Fellows and the cherished wife of 38 years of the late Robert Harvey Foust.
A graduate of Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh, Jean used her education and compassion to touch countless lives as a physical therapist, with a special passion for working with children with disabilities. She cherished the opportunity to make a difference and treasured the many relationships she built through her career.
Jean lived her life as a shining example of faith, joy, and love. She greeted each day with positivity, never complained, and uplifted those around her with a caring heart and boundless laughter. A devoted member of Grace Church Bethlehem, Jean's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her church family and spiritual community brought her deep joy and fulfillment.
Family was at the center of Jean's world. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, finding immense joy in attending her grandchildren's events and celebrating every milestone with them. Her enthusiasm for life extended to the beach, where she could often be found riding her boogie board at Sea Isle City, New Jersey, well into her mid-80s. Jean also found great joy in playing bridge.
Jean's Pittsburgh roots ran deep, and she remained a Pittsburgh sports fan throughout her life. Her connection to her extended family in Pittsburgh, including her beloved nieces and nephews, was a source of happiness and fond memories.
Jean's joyful spirit lives on in her children: Reik Foust and wife, Carolyn McGinnis; Robert Foust and former spouse, Lisa Foust; and Linda Foust Kalamar and husband, Scott. She was a loving grandmother to Reik Foust, Rian Foust and wife, Shaun, Kelsey Kalamar, Brenna Wade and husband, Chris, Scott Kalamar and wife, Sarah, Austin Foust, and Taylor Foust. She also delighted in her great-grandchildren: Mack, Finn, Brody, and Oaklee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Sal O'Connor, and her husband, Buck, as well as her dear friend, Bob Geist.
A celebration of Jean's life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Grace Church, 4301 Hecktown Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Guests are welcome to gather from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
