Jeanette Lynn Campbell

September 26, 1950 — July 31, 2018

It is not often the generosity of another inspires change in oneself. Those who knew her as an acquaintance, knew her generosity well. Those lucky enough to call her friend, family or both, were changed by her; in all cases for the better.

On July 31, 2018, Jeanette Lynn Campbell, 67, of Bethlehem, unexpectedly passed from this world. She was not only the dedicated wife of Charles Campbell Jr., nor mother, grandmother, aunt or friend. Her lifes work and influence encompassed so much more.

When entertaining guests, she was generous to a fault. At the table, everyone would have seconds before she took her seat. In leading her family, she was an example to all. Were integrity and honesty currency, those in her presence would be eternally rich. Through the meals she cooked, she shared her heritage and love. In discipline, showed mercy. In compassion showed her faith.

Her careers outside of raising a family exhibited her true character. First as an early childhood educator, and later as a caregiver to the elderly, her compassion and care comforted, taught and inspired those around her. She will be missed for that calm of character and welcoming smile, for the gut laughs and warm hugs. Her influence and spirit will live on in the actions and hearts of all those she has impacted throughout hers and their lives.

Jeanette was born September 26, 1950 to the late Ethel and Stanley Hager.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Charles Campbell; granddaughter Campbell “Bella” and grandsons Graham and Lincoln; children, Christina Campbell and her husband Peter Schriber, Laura Oswald and her husband Garrett, Andrew Campbell, and Colin Campbell and his wife, Julie; brothers, Stanley and Richard Hager; and sister, Barbara Huber. Jeanette was preceded in death by her brother Albert “Butch” Hager.

Jeanette was an active member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church. She graduated from Central Bucks High School in 1968 and went on to earn her bachelors degree from Penn State University in 1972. She continued to further her education by earning her M.S. Ed. from the University of South Carolina in 1976 and returned for a second M.S. Ed. from Lehigh University in 1996.

Jeanette enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, traveling and visiting nearly all of the state parks of Pennsylvania, frequenting vintage diners with her husband along the way.

In her eyes, these things were secondary. Her true passion was conveyed in her love for those around her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she knew, and those lucky enough to call her friend, aunt, sister, grandmother, mother and wife.
