Jeffery I. Fuehrer

Jeffery I. Fuehrer, 70, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, the son of the late Walter and Gladys (Van Syckle) Fuehrer. He was the loving husband to Mary (Kramer) Fuehrer, they were married for 42 years.

Jeff was a graduate of Moravian College and earned his MBA from Lehigh University. He was a Captain in the Air Force having served in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. He worked in the financial department at Sacred Heart Hospital for 10 years and Muhlenberg Hospital for 25 years. He had a passion for public service. He served as the Fire Police Captain for Han-Le-Co Fire Department, he was a non-suppression instructor for the State Fire Academy, volunteered for numerous EMS organizations, and a former board member of the Eastern PA EMS Council. He was a member of the Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, an avid history buff, and collector of historical memorabilia.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary; his two sons, Kevin and his wife, Peggy and Thomas and his wife, Melissa, all of Bethlehem; his grandchildren, Sara, John, Adam, Meghan and Aaron; and his beloved dogs, Laurel and Talisker.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem.
