Joan E. Raymond, 82, of Bethlehem passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at St. Luke’s Fountain Hill.
Born on December 3, 1940, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Kester) and Charles Raub.
Joan was a seamstress for many years. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church, Bethlehem as well as the Lioness Club. Joan was also a girl scout leader—in her spare time, she enjoyed bingo, going to the casino and playing cards.
Above all, she will be remembered as “Gran” to her family, friends, and neighbors—Joan loved sitting on her porch and being the neighborhood watch.
She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Laura Gross and Joan E. Szemenyei; sister, Charlotte Rzepiela and her husband, John; three grandchildren, Nikki Guidon and her fiancé, Matthew Hoh, Alysia Visco and her husband, John and Josh Brueningsen and his companion, Aubree Cote; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Guidon and Jae Visco.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband with whom she shared 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2013, Harold Raymond; and her three siblings, Margaret Donohue, Charles Raub, and Jane Senick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 1817 1st St., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Inurnment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
