Joan E. Thieme

Joan E. Thieme, 80, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2015. She was born in Fountain Hill, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Monshein) Seidenberger. She was the wife of Curtis W. Thieme to whom she was married 57 years. Joan was a 1953 graduate of Fountain Hill High School. She worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, followed by KidsPeace, Fountain Hill for 20 years. She was a student and parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Bethlehem. She was a member of the Golden Hiller's Club and loved trips to the casinos. She loved golfing, cooking, baking, knitting, and homemaking. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and her pets too.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Robert C. Thieme of Bethlehem and his sons, Aaron and Kevin; and Brian J. Thieme and his wife, Tina of Catasauqua and their sons William, Joseph and Michael; and Joans daughter, Susan A. Thieme of North Wales, PA. Also surviving are two brothers, Donald (Doris) Seidenberger of Bethlehem and Robert (Lucille) of Hellertown; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas and Joseph Seidenberger and sisters, Pauline Walker and Bernadine Eck.

Visitation with the family will be 9-10 a.m. on Saturday May 23, 2015 at Holy Ghost Church, 417 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18015 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entrance for handicapped accessibility is at the front right hand side of the church. Burial at Holy Ghost Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kids Peace, 1650 Broadway, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
