Joan M. Alexis

Joan M. Alexis, 80, passed away Tuesday, May 03, 2016 at home. Born in Kingston, PA, she was the daughter of Agnes (Malikowski) and John Reilly. She was the loving wife of Joseph W. Alexis.

Joan was a member of the Ladies Group at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bethlehem, and also volunteered at the church, coordinating weddings and providing other support services. Family was most important to Joan and she especially loved being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph; son, Michael J. Alexis and his wife, Jill; sisters, Dorothy Jenkins and Rosemary Woolsey; and grandchildren, Alison, Elizabeth and Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Reilly, and her sister, Eleanor Grimes. Joan was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and she will be very deeply missed.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA, with a luncheon afterwards.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help or to any charity dedicated to fighting Alzheimers Disease and dementia.
