Joann L. Stametz

Joann L. Stametz, 83, of Saylorsburg, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at St. Lukes Anderson. Joann was the loving wife for 57 years of the late Larry C. Stametz. He was her everything.

Born on June 2, 1939, in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Macik) and Joseph Mitch.

Joann was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sweets, the color purple, in fact, her family referred to her as “purple nanny.” Joann loved animals, especially her beloved, Cuddles, who she rescued. She also enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets and listening to Elvis.

She will be dearly missed by her son, Mark (Tina) Stametz; daughter, Kim Sutliff; sister, Barbara (John) Kresge; brother, Joseph (Jonnie) Mitch; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joann is preceded in death by her son, Lawrence; grandson, Ryan Wesner; brother, Ronald Mitch; and son-in-law, Ron Sutliff.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lehigh Valley Humane Society, 640 Dixon St., Allentown, PA 18103.
