Joanne A. Witcoskie

Joanne A. Witcoskie, 80, of Bethlehem Township, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Born on September 20, 1943, in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Surowitz) Rutkowski.

Joanne graduated from Liberty High School in 1961. Following her graduation from high school, she worked at Champion Spark Plug, McCormick Spice, and Durkee Foods. She also went to nursing school at Gracedale. Joanne enjoyed being a cub scout leader for her son, Michael's pack. She was a secretary for over 30 years at Sacred Heart Church, Bethlehem, where she volunteered at the school and the parish for many activities over the years. Joanne also served as a lector, eucharistic minister and funeral server. In Joanne's free time, she enjoyed playing bingo.

Growing up, Joanne was neighbors with the love of her life, Albert, with whom she went on to share 48 wonderful years with before his passing in 2015.

Joanne will be dearly missed by her two children, Marlene and David Witcoskie; and brother, Ronald Rutkowski.

In addition to her husband, Albert, and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Michael Witcoskie; and two brothers, Richard and Joseph Rutkowski.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 E. Washington Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18017 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Inurnment will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
