John A. Carchio, 88, of Bethlehem, worked his last crossword puzzle on September 7, 2012. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Rocco and Antoinette (Marinaccio) Carchio. He was the loving husband of the late Teresa (Gianguzi) Carchio who died in 2010.
John was employed by the Bethlehem Steel and after retirement worked as a TSA for LVIA. He was a veteran of WWII. He served in the Navy as a Seabee in the 87th Battalion.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son John Jr. of Florida; daughters, Patricia Ann Talijan of Bethlehem and Teresa, wife of Bradley Bailey of Tennessee; grandchildren, David Patrick Talijan and Terri Beth Bailey; sisters, Lucy, wife of John Gorcsan II and Ann, wife of George Marinkovich; brother, Francis Carchio and his wife, Patricia; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Cody. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem, where a memorial service will be held at a later date.
