John A. Stofanak

John A. Stofanak, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home with his family at his side.

Born January 1, 1926 in Detroit, MI; he was the son of the late Paul and Margaret Stofanak. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary M. (Yenca) Stofanak.

He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. in 1986 after 39 years of service where he worked as an assistant roller in the Combination Mill.

John will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary; sons, John A. Stofanak of Hellertown; David F. Stofanak and his wife Susan of Bethlehem Twp. and Kenneth A. Stofanak and his wife Nancy of Macungie; two grandchildren, David and Sara Stofanak and three step grandchildren, Ashley and Mark Pruitt and Amy Schatz; as well as his sister, Frances Goc of Slovakia; extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond and Ladislav Stofanak and sister, Mary Straka.

John will be remembered for his talent of playing the harmonica, his smile, his work ethic and the love he shared with his family.

A visitation will be held from 7-9 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2012 and again from 8:30-9:30 AM on Friday at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Friday at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers: memorial contributions may be made to the church and/ or St. Francis Retreat Center for Renewal, 395 Bridle Path Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18017.
